Safe zone alerts for home, school and more

A safe zone is a circle you draw on a map around a place like home or school. When the person you protect enters or leaves it, Hifazat sends you an alert. Safe zones need live location sharing to be switched on, and the person must have agreed or be a child under your care.

How do I set up a safe zone?

Open Map in your family space, choose a person and add a zone. Choose its centre on the map, give it a name, select Home, School or Other, and set a radius from 50 m to 2 km.

What alerts will I get?

After 2 confirming location pings, arrival and departure events appear in your family space. The first confirmed position establishes a starting point, not an arrival alert. Email alerts are pending sender setup.

How accurate are safe zones?

Accuracy depends on the phone, signal and surroundings. Boundaries are never exact. A measured accuracy result has not yet been confirmed.

Tips for choosing a zone size

Use a circle that comfortably includes the place, rather than a tight boundary. A wider radius can reduce false changes when phone accuracy is poor. Quiet hours keep events in history.

Questions families ask

Safe zones support a radius from 50 metres to 2 kilometres. Choose a circle that comfortably covers the place, since phone location accuracy and surrounding conditions can affect boundary checks. A zone alert is not a precise arrival confirmation: the app requires confirming location pings, which may take time or be delayed.

No. Safe zones depend on fresh location pings, so location sharing must be active for the person. The described setup requires the person’s agreement or a child under your care. If the phone is offline, the page is closed, or location access is unavailable, zone events may not update promptly.

The app waits for 2 confirming location pings before recording a boundary change. That confirmation step, together with the phone’s update schedule, signal and browser limits, can delay an event. Safe zone alerts are therefore not a guarantee of immediate delivery. Check the family space for the recorded event and contact the person if needed.

Yes. Each safe zone can have its own quiet hours. Events remain in the dashboard history during quiet hours, while email delivery is pending sender setup. Do not rely on email notifications being sent; check the family space for recorded events and their timing.
